I utilize Somatic Experiencing and Narrative Therapy in my approach to meet your mind and body where it is at and work towards your individual goals.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy invites you to explore the stories that have shaped how you see yourself and your experiences. In our work together, we look at the beliefs and themes that have taken hold over time and gently examine where they came from, how they’ve helped you cope, and where they may be limiting you now. By externalizing problems and highlighting your strengths, we create space for alternative stories—ones that reflect your values, resilience, and hopes. The process is reflective and empowering, offering a clearer sense of authorship over your life.
We might work with your thoughts and behaviors, your personal stories, or the sensations in your body—often a mix of all three. Here’s a quick look at the kinds of therapy we might use together, depending on what feels supportive.
Here’s a sense of what our work together could look like.
ERP Therapy
Exposure and Response Prevention is a structured, collaborative approach designed to help you gradually face the situations, thoughts, or sensations that trigger anxiety or compulsive behaviors. In session, we identify what feels most challenging and break it into manageable steps, always moving at a pace that respects your nervous system. You’ll practice staying with discomfort long enough to learn that it can rise and fall without needing to engage in old patterns like avoidance or compulsions. Over time, this process helps reduce fear, build confidence, and create more freedom in your daily life.
Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing focuses on how your body carries stress and trauma, and how it can also be a source of regulation and resilience. Sessions tend to move at a slower, more attuned pace as we track physical sensations, shifts in breath, and subtle impulses to move or settle. This gentle, body-based approach supports a greater sense of safety, grounding, and connection with yourself.
